I have an expert understanding of disciplinary and applied theories, cutting-edge innovative models, principles of learning and design, and effective pedagogies across modalities. One of my recent projects focused on promoting change in attitudes, beliefs, knowledge, and practices through technology-mediated instruction in professional communities of practice. Among others, this research entailed concepts such as developing a sense of belonging, promoting active engagement and collaborative participation, and cultivating successful transfer of complex knowledge to situated practice.
My research interests include:
- Professional development
- Learner-centered and pedagogy-driven design
- Effective pedagogies for online and blended learning (dialogic learning, inquiry-based learning, collaborative learning, professional communities of practice)
- Open educational resources and related pedagogies
- Design-based research
